My Hong Kong Adventure | Day 1: Settling In

Hello hello my deliciously hot readers!
Well, for those who don't already know from my Twitter/IG/Facebook, I'm in Hong Kong now! And I will be here all the way till 6th Oct 2013. Gonna be staying here for about a month wow! So I decided that I should document my whole stay here. Reason for my crazy long stay? My sister is enrolling in SCAD (Savannah College of Arts & Design) and my parents thought it'll be cool if we could stay here till she was all settled in. I'm not complaining. Despite the scorching weather, Hong Kong is still one of my favourite places in the world. Mainly because of the food and shopping. I mentioned food first because yes, food > shopping to me.

Random stuff to take note of before you read my daily diary of my Hong Kong trip:
  1. All pictures were taken with my Samsung Note 2 - didn't feel the need to bring my DSLR or an extra digital camera along.. Samsung FTW!
  2. I only brought 2 pairs of shoes - my combat boots (that seriously go with EVERYTHING! SUCH A GREAT INVESTMENT) and my Puma sport shoezz
  3. I'm gonna be interning at Lanson Place starting next week! Exciting!!!
Anyway, let me start with my day:

Woke up early this morning (around 6am ish) to the loud roars (*breaks out into the new Katy Perry's song*) of thunder and cracking lightning. It was freezing, even my grotesquely long arm hair wasn't enough effective in keeping me warm. Popped on a sweater and hurriedly went to do last minute packing - living by my title of "The Procrastinator".

At 7:30am, the taxi arrived and it took us to the airport.
Did the usual airport-y stuff.

Ate kaya butter toast. Drank kopi. Looked at duty free perfumes (random side note: Marc Jacobs' new perfume, Honey, yeah the one with the ADORABLE BOTTLE, sucks.... Smells like soap....)

Mandatory boarding pass shot ^

Flight was ok. I finally got the chance to watch Monster's University. I usually hate cartoons but I must say it's pretty impressive. Love the moral of the movie - something like never to give up and that good things come to those who work hard. Definitely a show to watch (even if you think you are too mature for animations)!

Random tip: If you are flying SQ, ASK THEM FOR BISCUITS!

My dad has been getting me these for ages. My love for Khong Guan biscuits is eternal.

Landed in Hong Kong at 2pm ish. Headed over to the service apartments we'll be residing in. Chilled. Got kinda hungry so headed downstairs to the "Piazza" to get some grub.

When you're in Hong Kong, you can't NOT drink their milk tea. Amazing stuff. Loving the grenade looking cup.

Some shots of where I'm staying at! How cool is it that it's beside a pier? ALSO, there's a beach. SAY WHAT?! I'm going to wake up early tomorrow to go for a morning jog.
